Fly screens.. KINGHAM
I've had my Kingham for about 3 years now and the penny just dropped this afternoon... why on earth do the two rear bedroom windows have fly screens fitted as they cannot be opened....??

If bright outside and no lighting inside the flyscreens will act like a net curtain,
one can see OUT but those outside will not easily be able to see IN.

Thanks Frederick but the heavily tinted thermal windows already affords us that level of privacy.

Sylvester 1954 do you have a fly screen on the rear door window. As on my Kingham all windows have fly screens fitted except for this one. Something else to ponder over

No Paul, there are no fly screens to the rear doors.

I would have suggested 'net curtain' but as you say, they are not really necessary with the tinted glass. I hadn't actually thought about it with my Kingham! LOL

Fly screens also serve as a substitute for privacy windows.sylvester1954 wrote:I've had my Kingham for about 3 years now and the penny just dropped this afternoon... why on earth do the two rear bedroom windows have fly screens fitted as they cannot be opened....??

The tinted glass does a better job.
I think the window blind cassettes just have the fly screens as standard irrespective of whether the windows open.

Thanks for that. Local company can not do tinted wrap privacy cover as these are fitted on the inside of the vehicle and the internal carpet lining of my 1997 Trooper causes interfering static during fitting requiring a window out fit.
The Trooper was supplied with pull up flyscreens and these also act as privacy screens. I want to replace the one over the work service so I am looking for a supplier.

Not really considered this on my Kingham in two years. Only ones which cover the two opening vents behind drivers seat and in sliding door can actually be used to stop insects. Just assumed that the standard blinds on fixed windows were because they came as standard on blinds, but that logic falls down on rear door blind which has no fly screen. Same darkened glass so any argument for one is sunk by other. Someone in AS must understand the logic........ perhaps

Trooper flyscreens
What I am looking for here is the name and contact details of a manufacturer of replacement flyscreens whether made to measure or original equipment.
Location of a VW T4 Trooper of 1997 vintage being broken could be a possibility.
