Re: Drive away awning
Vango kela lll is what we use. Great additional space. Easy to pitch and take down. Option to use awning rail to secure or throw over straps. Can add a bedroom inside if you wish. Plenty of options for opening it up for cooking too.
Downsides ......but not huge issue for us, is that the joining section is a bit flappy in the wind. Depends of course on where you pitch van. Just back from west Scotland , very windy but no flap as pitched van to wind to protect awning.
You will benefit from awning stOps. It will slide along rail in not secured.
It stands up brilliantly in adverse weather but is heavy to transport

The sheet that goes under the ground sheet to protect it from gravel pitches. A proper substantial (Gardners of Wakefield) carrier bag.
Its got longer figure of 8 section (that secures to van awning) to stop the sliding that Lorfal mentions. Its got the bedroom and pump that comes with it.
Would need to look to see what else is there

Re: Drive away awning
Managed to put the awning up today, first attempt was about 45mins so not bad it will only get faster.roli wrote:The sheet that goes under the ground sheet to protect it from gravel pitches. A proper substantial (Gardners of Wakefield) carrier bag.

Re: Drive away awning
I have recently upgraded form an old secondhand Khyam Quick Erect Motordome Tourer to a new Vango Kela IV.
Still getting used to the Vango and finding one person pitching a bit of a struggle compared to the Khyam but it is a much nicer living space once up.
I would suggest getting along to a show where both makes are available and have a good look at sizes, options etc.

Re: Drive away awning
We found the air beam types take up too much space in the van, so sold ours and bought a lightweight dome driveaway. It fits in the under bed space so much more easily so we dont have to put it up if we dont need it eg when stopping for one night etc.
Our current one is the Outdoor revolution movelite kayman xl which I can put up on my own without difficulty and takes very little time.
We have adapted our sliding door with a "Stopsy" which holds the door halfway and so it doesnt hit the edge of the driveaway where it joins the van.
The stopsy has been a great adaptation for our van anyway. In colder weather it is a great feature to be able to hold the door open halfway and avoid wind and rain all over the kitchen .

I bought it from the link on this post and it has been well worth the investment
