Symbol roof light problem
I would welcome a solution to the problem of leaves etc blowing in through the roof light of my 2011 Auto sleeper Symbol Dorset.
PS I find this forum so useful. Ingenious solutions to all sorts of problems. I sometimes wonder if the design team at Auto sleeper browse
through it.

Re: Symbol roof light problem
I always use the flyscreen when rooflights open to stop insects (and leaves) coming in.

Yes, that's sort of the problem. When we are not using the van the space between the rooflight and the fly screen collects leaves, mostly larch needles round here. These are difficult to remove. I wondered if anyone had been able to make a seal between the roof of the van and the rooflight.

Re: Symbol roof light problem
On my Gloucester the large rooflight (Heki 3) is only fitted with seal on the front and part of each side, to provide some permanent ventilation (part of required minimum vent), though the groove is present for a full seal strip. It means that when driving wind noise is created. I bought a replacement draft strip from John Cross Motorhomes, and completed the sealing, result wind noise gone, no plastic on plastic squeeks.
if your roof lights have the groove, you may be able to get the sealing strip for them too.
