Re: Weather
Chilly dry morning, north westerly wind, ideal for dog walking, some blackies and thrushes having a sing song.

Re: Weather
Just watching BBC breakfast, national weather forecast guy says it will be a much better weekend and not so stormy. BBC Scottish weather forecast is warning of the potential of flooding because of heavy rain and damaging wind gusts So far, this morning, the Scottish forecast is spot on as it's pouring down and blowing a gale

Ha ! been trying now for over a fortnight to get the van jacked up high enough to allow access to underside for some Waxoyling. Woke this morning early with great intentions and just opened back door when the sleet/snow started! ... Have not had a dry day since arriving home with the new van and almost constant high/freezing winds that make it miserable to work in and waxoyl needs splitting with an axe to fit the spray gun! ... Another day huddled by the fire .... Roll on summer!

Due to the ultra wet winter I'm itching to try out some Patio Magic on our paving. It's supposed to kill of moss and algae, leaving a clean surface.
Trouble is it needs a minimum of two dry days to work. I don't think we've had two consecutive dry days since last August.

I notice that our local earthworms have given up the sodden lawns and are striking out across the pavements. Have they interned with lemmings?

Re: Weather
No snow here either despite forecast. We were forecast sleet and hail yesterday, so the town council cancelled the annual pancake race, only to have a dry sunny but bitterly cold day.

Given up on any external work on the van or the property, on the rare occasion when the suns out ,it's too cold to apply anything.kaspian wrote:Ha ! been trying now for over a fortnight to get the van jacked up high enough to allow access to underside for some Waxoyling. Re: Weather
We've got that horrible sleety rain and it's bitterly cold. If it had been a little more dry, I would have tried to sneak out to get a photo of the Sparrowhawk that's currently devouring a pigeon in my next door neighbours garden

Re: Weather
Torrential rain. Had to go out to put breeze blocks and planks in lane adjacent to our house to divert flooded catchpit from flowing into us. Succeeded so far, but gravel surface of lane washed away, down to highway. Soaked to the skin! Still pouring so may be a restless night....
But we're lucky. Bought a new Hyundai last month. Due in for update of navigation system. But Monday's BBC Wales news showed a clip of all the gleaming new cars in the showroom - all with a foot-well full of filthy brown water. All but one of about 50+ cars flooded. The exception had been left up in the air on a ramp in the workshops. So I'm not complaining about our bit of drama.
