Height of Warwick Duo
Does anyone know the overall height of a Warwick Duo with a roof aircon unit fitted? Can't seem to get a straight answer from Auto-Sleepers.

Same question was asked by Sally only a couple of weeks ago. No definite answer except to measure it yourself.

Bear with me and I'll go measure my Sussex (Marquis special edition Warwick Duo with air con).

Re: Height of Warwick Duo
Not sure how precise a measurement you need but the height will vary depending on air-topped suspension settings, current payload, tyre sizes, tyre pressures, etc.
But if it's just a rough idea, then Paul has your back

Right, thanks for that. Do you know if you have the standard Truma unit as fitted by Auto-Sleepers?

Re: Height of Warwick Duo
My 2017 Warwick Duo has the Truma Comfort, the unit currently fitted by AS.
AS state the Duo is 2640mm in height and I estimate the AC to be 10cm higher than the top of the aerial so I use 2740mm (9ft) as the height.
Come to think of it I should measure it but not sure of the best way. Think I will need a long straight edge, a spirit level, steps and tape measure.

Thanks AutoSleepy_Don.
Does your Trauma unit fit in place of the front roof opener or further back?

Further back. Mine is where the middle round LED is (on a van without AC), approx where the sink is longitudanly, adjacent to the TV aerial on the roof.hat004 wrote:Thanks AutoSleepy_Don.

That is it requires a new hole in the roof.

Re: Height of Warwick Duo
I finally got round to measuring. I have been meaning to do this for months.
My 2017 Warwick Duo with Truma Comfort is 2715mm at the highest point which is the front half of the Truma.
If the tyres have sunken in to the stone driveway then that maybe 2725mm.
I am going to keep using my original estimate of 2740mm (9ft) for bridges.
better roof shot showing AC location on roof

Re: Height of Warwick Duo
Thanks that's really helpful. I'll use your measurment of 2740mm for my estimating purposes to see if I can still get my van in my garage with an air con unit fitted. I see that you also have a solar panel on your roof. Sorry to be a pain but do you know what rating it is and the size of it?

Re: Height of Warwick Duo
Hmmmmmm? I love a challenge.
To measure the height accurately, first get the van onto some firm and level ground.
Then use a ladder to place a stack of food tins, blocks of wood (or whatever) on the roof up to the height of the aircon unit. Build an identical stack on each side and move them toward the edge of the roof for greater accuracy.
Place a long straight pole across the piles of cans so it protrudes a foot or two on each side of the van. (Check that it just brushes the highest point of the aircon unit.)
Measure the height from the ground to the underside of the pole on each side, and take the average. That should give you an accuracy to within an inch or so.
Hope this helps

OK ladders out again.hat004 wrote:I see that you also have a solar panel on your roof. Sorry to be a pain but do you know what rating it is and the size of it?
I have 2 * 30W panels, each are 660mm x 380mm. Giving 60W total.
I think these 2 panels were retro fitted by Marquis MH and I don't recommend them (Panels or MMH).
New vans come from AS fitted with an 80W panel. I compared mine to a new van and checked the "solar amps" output as shown on the EC480. I was parked next to the other van and so identical conditions. The new van (with 80W panel) was showing 4.6A and while my van showed 2.0A (same time). This was solar noon on the June solstice so maximum solar energy.
If your considering fitting a new Truma then I recommend going to the AS Service Centre in Willersey They told me they can fit a Truma while leaving the 80W panel.
