Buying Advice: Can I expect any discount?
Hi all, next year we will hopefully be in a position to get our first MH and more than likely an AS, probably from Marquis as they are local. Ideally we will go for a new one so I can get some options added i.e. media pack.
How are MH dealers up for a haggle, I wouldn't get one without a starter pack of essential kit thrown in for starters? I would also be looking at ex demo and last season AS first, probably like most buyers.
I see on Marquis has a button on their selling pages "make an offer" on each MH, what in reality could I get if anything, how low will they go.
When is the best time to buy?
Any experiences you may want to share would be worthwhile, our local AS dealership is Marquis Lancashire by the way.
Regards

Buyer beware!!
Firstly, a lot depends on the branch of Marquis, but some of them are notorious for giving huge discounts and bundles of goodies, only to completely lose interest once they have your cash. If anything goes wrong they have so little profit left in the kitty that you could find even warranty problems difficult to get sorted. Have a good read on here I'd suggest.
Secondly, I would never advocate excessive haggling anyway. Stand up for a fair deal of course, but if you have a good dealer (Query Marquis!!!) it should be fair to both sides, and the dealer should have made enough profit to be very flexible and accommodating if (almost certainly when) something needs fixing. In my opinion after sales care and support is worth far more than a fantastic deal.
Above all I would seek the opinion of members about your branch of Marquis. Regrettably some of them drag down the general reputation of dealers more than most - and usually by offering huge discounts then backing off when something goes wrong.
Hope this helps for a start.

If Cheshire is not too far away, have a look at Spinney, good to deal with and good aftersales.

Cheers for the responses, I did a search and I couldn't see anything Negative against that branch, nothing positive either . I will post a separately and see what comes back.
But first look on the forum has a few branches renowned for been rubbish and some outstanding.
Thanks again.
