Ford Duetto
Hi
I am new to this lark! Just bought a 2010 Duetto, had one trip which went fine. Went to make the bed up last night, just to measure it and the seat next to the sliding door, which slides forward to make a single or form part of the double, will only go part way out. I have taken off the seat to get a good look, the rails will only go so far,. There is nothing obvious that is stopping it from going all the way out. The rails are enclosed so I can't see inside to see what is going on. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Kate

Re: Ford Duetto
As I said on your first post, I had this on a Symphony. Screw heads can come out and stop the slide. You say the rails are enclosed but the one that fastens to the frame can't be enclosed so that's what I'd check first. It only takes one screw head to stop it.

Sorry- I didn’t know my first post had gone up! It’s not any of the screws I can access. Have been to 3 campervan places now, none of them could work it out!

Re: Ford Duetto
I should start by saying that I have never even seen the inside of a 2010 Duetto, sadly.
But... before you look for faults, is it possible that it's only ~meant~ to slide partway?
In my experience, A/S tend to use two different techniques for a bed like that: In one, the front seat swivels through 180 degrees and the rear seat slides forward to meet it. In the other, the front seat does not swivel - you recline the back fully until it is horizontal, and the rear seat slides forward to meet the top of the seat back. If the latter, the rear seat slides a smaller distance.

Must admit it took me a couple of nights to get the off side single bed made up correctly, slide the passenger seat forward and tilt the seat back forward until the cloth covered metal plate raises up .
Slide the rear seat forward, lift the wooden panel to level up with the front seat plate. Adjust the back rake to level up the wooden panel, the small cushion insert should fit on top of the wooden panel forming a single bed, I'm a big lad and sleep well on the bed.
Hope you can make sense of my instructions., alternatively go onto google and see if you tube have any pictures.

Hi
Thanks for your suggestions.
Mojo- it's the first kind. It worked last time, but seems to be stuck.
Burlingtonboaby-Last time, it slid forward to meet the turned round passenger seat. The back cushion and board will not go flat unless it is all the way out.
frederic- yes it is.
Think I need to take it back to SMC Newark- it's under warranty, but is a long way...

Re: Ford Duetto
Can't help I fear, but could I suggest you make your thread titles a little more explicit.
You are not alone by any means ( ) but "Ford Duetto" gives not the slightest clue to your problem. I know some members get impatient with such titles, specially when in a hurry, and tend to ignore them - when a mention of "sliding door" may have grabbed their attention and led to sound advice.
Just a thought.

Re: Ford Duetto
If you angle the back seat cushion using the small wheel on the side, the back plate will change its height slightly, the insert should fit in fine, mine doesn't fit perfectly flat, however when you put your pillows down and lay down its levels out, especially with my lump of a heed.Kateallam wrote:Hi

Re: Ford Duetto
I had this problem on my Duetto (year 2000 reg but Mk5). I gave up trying to locate the loose screw and took the van to an A/S supplier who fixed it in minutes.
