Chatsworth Flower Show Empty Chatsworth Flower Show

Post by Sally Sat Jun 02, 2018 1:31 pm

I might be visiting Chatsworth flower show, and I wondered if anyone on here had driven a campervan/motorhome to it for the day.  I know there will be lots of traffic queuing there, but I’m thinking more of the access gate and the parking during the day.

If anyone’s done it then I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks

Hi Sally
I have not been to the flower show but live close to Chatsworth Estate.
The access roads are good and parking should not be a problem but I suggest that you arrive early to avoid the very long queues.

If possible, I suggest staying on a campsite nearby and going to Chatsworth between 8 and 9 in the morning. There is a cafe/restaurant on site so you could have a relaxing breakfast when you are safely parked.
In the event of wet weather forecast the Chatsworth Estate staff lay metal roads to keep as many vehicles as possible off the grass.

Enjoy the show, I hear it was very good last year.

We stayed on the CAMC site last week and walked on the estate, roads were fine and many panel vans in and out. If you could get a night on the camp site it would probably be worth it as access to the estate is via a door in the wall for which you are given a key.

Doesn`t Chatsworth have a camp site ? I am sure there is or was ? my Daughter and family camped there, have also seen caravans etc when I went, was a long time ago mind you.

The campsite on the estate is full unfortunately. It sells out very quickly. It does sound as if access and parking is okay though.

If you are a C&CC member there is a Temporary Holiday Site in Bakewell which is only 5.5 miles away until June 10th.
