Re: kemerton
Earlier this year we traded in our Symbol for a 2015 Kemerton. We particularly wanted a sub-6m van rather than the newer 6.4m version, mainly to keep ferry and toll costs down when touring in Europe. Ours is one of the last 6m Kemertons to have been made and later in 2015 AS started producing them as a 6.4m van in order to provide the option for single beds. Other Kemerton owners have posted on here that they’ve managed a single bed option on the 6m but we have not felt the need to.
The Kemerton was a natural choice as we prefer a front lounge layout. It’s big selling point is the rear shower room that extends across the width of the van. Compared to the cosy shower room and loo in the Symbol it’s a big improvement and provides plenty of flexibility.
We’ve had around 15 nights in the Kemerton so are still getting to grips with it, but we think it’s an excellent van. We thought the Symbol was good but this is a step up in every way. Equipment is good, it feels spacious enough and storage space is excellent. AS introduced quite a few refinements after our 2009 Symbol so we’ve found quite a big difference with this van.
Having been in the new Kemerton we prefer the 6m version and feel the extra length of the 6.4m would give us no advantage, but much depends on how the van is used.
Other Kemerton owners on here were very helpful in answering our specific Q’s about the van so they’ll add further insights no doubt.

Re: kemerton
Hi Caric, negatives are probably disappointing and sometimes frustrating lack of build quality in what is marketed as a premier product. There is no excuse for this and from experience management dont care as long as units sell. This is aimed at the brand and not Kemerton in particular.
Positives are an excellent versatile layout in a van conversion which avoids the narrow cramped pinched effect of a side toilet facing a kitchen in a van conversion and feet under the wardrobe of the Warwick duo sleeping arrangement or the side door being half obscured by furniture.
With little simple modification the parallel single beds can be retained if required. Throw open the side door and you have a great view from the sofa or drop the 3rd seat and have 2 parallel sofas as in the Warwick. When closed up the lounge area is large open and not at all claustrophobic. The massive plus is a separate shower cubicle that is actually usable and large bathroom across the back but access retained from rear doors allowing long lengths to be carried. Dedicated storage for tv , hides it completely when not in use , a feature sadly lacking in the elwb version from 2015 onwards.
We moved the large table storage from over cab to rear of shower and later vans now have this mod too. Any specific questions, just ask but if you do decide to change I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

Agree with the comments made by Tim, Ruth & Kasp, excellent little MH. Plenty of info on the Kemerton on this forum if you search eg.

Re: kemerton
Hi Fosterbob. The n/s lower mirror has been discussed before on the forum. Some have added/fitted an extra mirror on to the main one, that acts as a lower mirror. Others have temporarily removed the blind whilst driving [held by a few screws] when it has been essential to do so, eg. driving abroad on the other side of the road. I agree with you the placement of the blinds are clearly a safety hazard on the Kemerton and also, if I'm not mistaken, on other conversion vehicles.
