more good thoughts above...here a few more from a long time refiller....

use a website like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] tomcheck for locations, POI files for the whole of europe are also available.

when in the uk and based at home, check for a reasonably close LPG station that ypu can use on any trip...also perhaps one on a major route ypu often use, again so that filling doesnt take you put of your way...

in France LPG is available at many, many supermarket outlets (LeClerc, Intermarché etc) and on Spain both Repsol and Cepsa stations are all over and LPG is readily available.

in effect, on a touring holiday, fills can ne made when travelling from one stop to the next, usually when getting diesel, so very convenient really....

Lots to think about here. We have a 2006 Symbol and thinking about a trip to Europe this year. If fitting a refillable (like a safefill or gaslow) in the existing gas locker with an external remote fill point, does this have to be through a hole drilled into the side of the van body or can it be mounted on a bracket underneath just flush with the side panel? This would allow the fill cable to be routed up through the underside of the gas locker.

With Safefill, the filling point is on the bottle itself, it should be removed from the van to refill.

Peter is quite correct. (No surprise there then!  up!)

In case you are concerned about forecourt attendants refusing to let you top up, Messrs Safefill provide documentation to assure them that it is all quite correct and above board. My tugger mate uses one, and has no problem at all when he takes it in the boot of his car for topping up.

Download the "Amended Red Guide" from here for more information. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I believe the Safefill documents can be provided in several European languages, and the cylinders are being sold in the Netherlands now, so foreign filling stations will be becoming familiar with them.
