Hi everyone, hopefully damp problem under sink area appears to be solved. After much investigation we found water pump{although working} was leaking taken apart dried and put /sealed back together. The chap said it could have frozen in the past. Seems to be the only explanation so touch wood all is ok.I will need to dry out area and then wait and see.Does this sound logical to you? Many thanks for all your ideas.

Potentially yes.

Our Shurflo pump began leaking between the two pump halves, so that it was squirting a fine spray of water from the mating faces when it was running.

In our Exec's case it soaked the carpet behind the driver's seat.

I did temporarily seal it with a gasket made from a plastic shopping bag, but a new pump housing (£40ish) was the permanent fix.

I would keep an eye on it, just in case.

I've also heard of hairline cracks in the inlet filter on a Shurflo - again, I think from ice forming inside and splitting it. You can get pretty much any part for those pumps, but it's often not a huge amount more expensive to replace it and keep the old one for spares.
