For fixing the black surround to the door another option would be to run a bead of silicon around the edge once you've screwed the surround to the door with the existing fixings. I was going to suggest using CT1 adhesive but then thought that if the glass ever needed replacing (worst case scenario) the blind and its surround would need to be removed - in which case a silicon bead could be cut easily with a thin blade.
Not sure about further fixings of the blind to the black surround, and whether you'd be able to hide them easily. Again, a silicon bead may be the answer.
Sad that you're having to do this on a new van but as you'll have seen from numerous threads on here, this is one of several weak areas in AS van conversions. Worth getting it sorted now before it frustrates the hell of you! While you're at it, two other points worth checking based on mine and other's experiences, and which most likely apply to your Symbol are: (1) resilience of the microwave fixings and the shelf it sits on, and (2) the watertight integrity of the shower room extractor van cowling on the roof. You'll find threads on both. Kaspian's posts are particularly helpful and you'll find details on how to deal with the issues.

Re: Rattling blind in van conversion sliding door
Many thanks Tim.
Having been on the forum for a while before I picked up the van I knew there would be a few ‘fixes’ to be done. What is annoying is that with most of these fixes there is generally very little cost and time involved for the manufacturers to do the job properly.
The haphazard fixing of the silver blind brackets and the scratched van paintwork (behind the decorative panel) just show a shoddy approach from the person fitting it.
