Mudflaps for a Kemerton XL
I would like to fit mudflaps front and back on our Kemerton XL but having found a previous thread on this am a bit confused as to if it's practical. Looks like there is an option of either Peugeot or Fiamma.
Just wondering if anyone has managed to fit them successfully.

Hi, yes I fitted Fiamma one's to the front with no problem, the back I still have to do but will sort something soon. If you like I can post a picture of the front one's tomorrow. I did the front to try and stop the road muck getting into the step and damaging the gears(again).

Hi, I wanted to fit front and back flaps to our Kemerton XL same reason as GP1069 so went to Peugeot dealer who told me it was not possible as the van is fitted with the plastic wheel arch guards.
Will watch this thread with interest and anticipation for a fix.

Before the AS I had a Tribby and saved a bomb on mud flaps thanks to an article on the Tribby site that I am sure they wont mind me sharing

Re: Mudflaps for a Kemerton XL
Hi Baz , I have successfully fitted aftermarket front flaps to my x250 peugeots including current Kemerton. They are made in a flexible rubber and were fitted using fixing holes in the van. Had that type fitted to 4 vans now , never lost any and look Ok. They came from a local motorstore who I believe imported from Ireland but I believe they fell foul of the manufacturers who took them to court as they were putting manufacturers logos on the flaps. I manufactured a small bracket which braces inner edge of the flap to the underside jacking point area from memory making for a really secure fit. I think they cost £10 per pair so worth the half hour making the brackets time wise against the cost of manufacturers flaps. The xl has wheel arch lips which I believe require either the specific flaps or a bit of ingenuity with aftermarket flaps. Well worth fitting though.

Thanks for the info everyone. I've found loads at under ten pounds a pair but on the basis that Peter fitted the Fiamma ones successfully and that they appear to come with the supporting brackets have decided to lash out on them.
Will update this thread with my success or lack of it.

Re: Mudflaps for a Kemerton XL
Just got round to doing this and was pleasantly surprised that it was a lot easier than expected. I bought the Fiamma front set. There are three fixings. The strut which clamps to the chassis and the top clamp fit fine but the bottom clamp is too short to reach the trim. Replacing the rear part of the bottom one with a standard 100mm joining plate worked well and they are now fixed nice and firmly. Planning to get some for the rear next.
Hopefully will have a clean step in future!
