Topaz water boiler on gas
Hi
I have recently purchased an 1996 Topaz, and surprisingly most of the " Creature Comforts"are working except the Gas function of the water boiler.
The manual says there is a trip switch on the end of the boiler, and may need resetting, and to do this you need to remove the offside bed cushion to gain access to the boiler, where there is a panel you have to remove to gain access I have had a look but can't see how to move the panel because the bed cushion seems to be fixed to the runners.
Anyone done this job before? Be most grateful if you can offer advice.
Cheers Andy

It was the same on my Symphony. Sliding the cushion forward gave access but I also had a small panel that swivelled directly behind the boiler accessible through the under bed locker.

I don't know your specific model but on our 2002 Pollensa the water heater has an external flue vent on the side of the van which has a clip-on protection cover - failure to remove the cover before attempting to use the heater on gas will result in it locking out.
Does yours have anything like this?

Hi guys
I phoned Autosleeper and spoke to one of there technical boys. Although the manual says access is from the bed base, he said that on a 1996 Topaz you access the Gas heater from the outside.
So I shall have a look tomorrow.
Thank you for you interest.

Re: Topaz water boiler on gas
Hi
Had a look at the water boiler. There was a fair amount of debris, so I removed the plate that shields the burner and cleaned it up and gave it good hovering.
Switched on, and the igniter lit the burner fine, but only for about 15seconds then the red light came on. The instructions say that this indicates air in the pipes and it needs purging. I've tride switching on and off it fires up then red light comes on and there is click.
Is there any other way to purge the pipe such as a bleeding screw or similar ?
Works fine on 240v.
