Fiamma table leg wanted. Now sourced.
I would like to buy a Fiamma table leg. It's the one with the tapered ends, either the full metal one which I can reduce in length or the one with the plastic tapered ends which is easier to cut down( just refit a plastic end).
There was one on e Bay which I bid for but someone sneaked up on me at the last moment and bought it!
Any have an unwanted 'spare?'
The reason for it is to use one of the tables in the van ( Trident) outside so it has to be lower than the standard height.
Here's hoping!

We actually bought one from ebay, designed specifically for this purpose, to use as a drinks table outside.
I presume that you already have a tripod base?
The leg was cheap, the base was flippin' expensive, about £35 IIRC.

I've got one I don't want all packed up ready to post. It's got sort of crimped ends. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but if you're interested I'll take a photo later and send it to you.

Re: Fiamma table leg wanted. Now sourced.
Thank you for your reply. I would appreciate a couple of photos of it.
The one I need fits the socket in the floor of my van ( VW Trident) and a socket beneath the table as supplied. I have a Fiamma base.
The leg is 55mm in diameter and has slightly tapered ends to make the connection into the table and base tight.

The one I've got has crimped ends, I'll measure it. I can't find one on the internet unfortunately. I'll send you a photo and measurements.

Thank you, have a look on eBay under Fiamma table leg, you will see that sometimes the leg is package with the conical bases etc, the one I want is like that.

I can't upload photos from my iPad. If you could PM me your email, I can send them that way.
The leg I have is crimped so probably not the right one, although I don't see why it shouldn't fit. It's 21/8 inches at the widest part measured at the outside edge.

Can you???Chocky1948 wrote:It's the one with the tapered ends, either the full metal one which I can reduce in length
If you cut the end off you will no longer have a taper, so it won't fit into your base or table bosses.
The aluminium one is no trouble at all. I cut mine down to size on the table saw and (as you said) refitted the plastic end.

Yes it is possible if you use a Wood or Plastic insert I have 2 legs I needed 3" above the longest Fiamma leg I turned a plastic insert and cut the lube 6" from the end and joined with my adaptor, the same applies if you cut a 12" piece out of the tube and join the ends togetherGromit wrote:Can you???Chocky1948 wrote:It's the one with the tapered ends, either the full metal one which I can reduce in length

You need a bit of Box wood Alf. Turns like butter and it's as hard as nails, and no grain worth mentioning.
If you are coming to either the Welland Steam Rally or the Malvern Show I'll bring you a bit. I've got loads more than I shall ever use.

Found one!
Due to information from a member of ASOF I contacted O' Leary Motorhomes and they had a 500mm leg in brown with the tapered ends in stock, described as "a bit scruffy" but perfect for me as I can repaint it if necessary. For £12 a bargain!
So I'm sorted, just the awning and the sat nav to sell and roll on the sunny days!
