Has any forum member fitted the new 2017 status 335 vision plus tv aerial as a direct replacement for the older " saucer" one in use with analogue
tv ? and does it work as well as a directional one which would need to intrude into the wardrobe or cupboard space, awkward on an Executive ?

The one I mean is ID 5029833420781 on the ebay site

Personally I think that they're effectively a waste of space and money, unless you're in a strong signal area, due to the inherent limitations of their design.

Almost nothing will beat the simplest of yagis (except maybe a swiss quad winks ), even a 3 element yagi will be better than one of these printed circuit designs (IMHO).

Have we any propagation experts here? (Alan Titchmarsh need not reply).

If your status aerial doesn't give you a good reception , try an Avtex 3000 aerial, if you can be bothered to erect it that is.  up!
I keep one as a spare for those remote sites.

If that doesn't work, try a FreeSat dish and receiver, which will almost always still work when terrestrial reception is impossible.

The main reason for my query was to have an aerial that does not have to be erected outside as we mainly use THSs or wild camp and use the van as transport. At the moment I am using small domestic aerial on a pole which is a pain to be taking down every time we want to drive out, especially if it is raining, although the Avtex 3000 sounds a good alternative as I have an Avtex TV.
Thanks for your comments, but one other question......Boaby....why are you standing on your head ?  lol4 lol4

The Avtex aerial does seem to get good reviews, it's just that to my eyes it doesn't look as if it should.

It's not that expensive, considering its manufacturer, and cheaper than some of the dire stuff that you can buy for caravans and boats.

If you already have an Avtex TV, it looks like the aerial can be powered by the TV too, check that though.
