Kingham Thule wind out awning curtains
Does anyone have and use curtains on their Thule window awning on a Kingham or similar sized PVC ?
We bought some for our T5 and have used them a lot.

Hi YMFB,
Congratulations on your new Kingham - we picked ours up 3 months ago and are really enjoying it. We've been down in Spain and France for the past 6 weeks so putting our bus through a good workout with only minor 'hick-ups'.
We have been using our Lilly Pad side/front curtains during this trip with pleasing results, sometimes a full 'room/awning' effect but most of the time just one end of the awning to offer greater privacy. We've also made a fly screen for the rear doors, allowing us to sleep at night with a door open for ventilation.

Made some progress with this today, the service department at AS were very helpful in telling me the van has an Omnistor 6200, 3.75 m wide in Anthracite. Trouble is when I phoned the local Thule dealer they need to know the drop from the casing to the ground as well !
Left another message with the AS service department, hopefully they will call again before I have to go out.

Having difficulty uploading photos - need a teenager and a constant wifi signal.
The drop from the bottom of the awning to the deck on mine is 240cm. Today we've been in a French motorhome dealer looking at the Thule quickfit awning - very nice but won't fit the Kingham owing to lack of clearance between the front of the cassette and the door.

Re: Kingham Thule wind out awning curtains
I have submitted a technical query to Thule via their website to ask which awning fits the Kingham.

Had a good look last night - not sure if there's any reason to prevent the awning cassette from being slid forward 10cm or so to allow for use of the Thule quickfit awning?

I have been in touch with Thule who took a while, but got there in the end and Webbs at Warminster spoke to their Thule dealer to decipher the options and this afternoon have ordered a Quickfit Tent 3.0m x 2.25m and a fixing kit for the TO 6020.
It will arrive before the Kingham.
Fingers crossed

Thule Quickfit awning UPDATE
I should have taken photos but didn't, muppet. We will be camping in less than a couple of weeks so will endeavour to do so from the site.ymfb1 wrote:I have been in touch with Thule who took a while, but got there in the end and Webbs at Warminster spoke to their Thule dealer to decipher the options and this afternoon have ordered a Quickfit Tent 3.0m x 2.25m and a fixing kit for the TO 6020.

We put this up today and although we didn't peg it down, it clearly fits. We bought
Quickfit Tent 3.0m x 2.25m
Quickfit roof fixation kit, which slides into the Omnistor body
Additionally we will buy the central telescopic spar and web tie down kit

Re: Kingham Thule wind out awning curtains
Good news! I look forward to some photos in due course.
The central rafter pole was supplied new with our van - it was in a beige felt bag under the bed with the awning wind-out tool
I drove past your place on Friday (working ) and slowed down to look at your van - same colour as ours - very nice

Any chance of a photo of your central rafter pole and how it fits ?
Thanks

Our van lives on a farm so won't be going down there until Friday.
You're looking for 3 poles (2 already joined together by a spring) - when assembled they will total a length of about 2 metres. One end locates in a 'cross' patch mid way and just below the cassette body on the van, the other end into an aperture on the end of the awning.

I can see where it might go at the end away from the van body
But the part that is on the body of the awning, looks a tad more challenging

The open end of the rafter pole fits over the white plastic 'cross' section (2nd photo) and the rounded end into the aperture on the 1st photo.

Not 100% sure we have it set up correctly we suspect we are missing some "rubber bands" that appear in the instructions but not in our bag. Weather is due to make an unwelcome return tomorrow so will have a better idea of how good it is in 24/36 hours time.
