Yes, there's a few those about, I've seen a 'pretend' Flair and Duetto in my travels !

Re: Single beds in a W reg Rambler
Got to admit I never saw another one on a Fiat but mine defiantly was. 1900 TD, 1994 and no power steering. I bought it off a chap in Chard. Previous to that it was in London somewhere. I managed to contact the London owner who had the service history and one or two spares definitely a Fiat anyway it ended up in Wales when I sold it. The grill was vertical black slats and four diagonal chrome slats which was the Fiat emblem or badge. Luckily I had A Fiat dealer up the road where I got any parts I needed Mellors of Challow. They still do MOTs for motorhomes.Alf wrote:I don't think Auto -Sleepers ever converted any Fiat's in panel van conversions The Rambles were on Talbot Express and Peugeot Boxers The only Fiat conversion I know to was on a Talisman.biffobear wrote:Agreed Nora I had a Rambler GL on a Talbot ( it was a Fiat 1900 TD but the same thing) a 1994 model and was pretty much the same as a Symphony and Symbol as mentioned earlier. You could have 4 single forward facing seats or two inward facing bench seats or a combination of both and a combination of tables, one large and to square smaller ones. A double or two single beds plus a kids double up top or a large storage cuboard. Washroom with sink, shower and toilet. Galley with oven, double hob & grill. Sink and drainer. Carver water heater and Truma room heater. A brilliant 'van and no rust at 7 years old. Happy daysTraficlady wrote:Sounds like a completely different van to the Talbot version! Hope you get sorted.

Re: Single beds in a W reg Rambler
I'm seeing Jackie and her Rambler later today at Lee-on-the Solent so it will be interesting to hear how she has got on, or not!
I've made up a short 3pin plug adapter lead so she can plug in to a domestic power supply for battery charging and a simple beginners guide to the basics. She can then add her own notes.
I'm interested in the vin no. as I can get the original build notes and Sevel production date to compare with date of 1st registration. There's usually quite a gap.
Without being too pushy I'd like to help her (and her other half) understand the finer points of the tyres 'dot' code.
Still, it's a good excuse for cake, tea and a natter overlooking the IoW whatever happens!!!!

Re: Single beds in a W reg Rambler
Met Jackie earlier and we've resolved all outstanding issues, most importantly single beds.
Nearside uses the flattened rear seat and front seat rotated. Offside by pushing the drivers seat fully forward and using an infill cushion in the gap.
She can't wait to get away which is what it's all about.
Job's a good 'un !
Thanks for everyone's interest.

Re: Single beds in a W reg Rambler
Hi,
Hmm, he wasn't there today and I learnt a bit more about their relationship.
He's going to try once and see but Jackie is a 'mature' lady and very independent and very keen. She will go with her girl friends without him if he's not interested as he is a companion, nothing more.
I'm going to leave them to it and just be on hand if needed.

Re: Single beds in a W reg Rambler
Sadly Jackie sold the Rambler to another member of her family following an outing into the New Forest. It was handling the van on narrow lines that finished her off !
Still, we gave our best shot, a learnt a bit along the way and hopefully it will get more use in future.
Thanks to all who showed an interest.
