Peugeot Boxer key fob
Hi.
We have a 2003 Symbol on a Peugeot Boxer base vehicle and I simply want to change the batteries in the key fobs as a precautionary measure.
However, the handbook says that there is a small screw to remove to access the battery compartment, but no such screw exists on ours.
I can see which section comes off, but cannot see which way it levers off and I don't want to damage the fob by trial and error.
Can anyone enlighten me ??
Thanks
Carver

On mine there is a screw under a cap on the reverse side. But there's no need to remove it to change the battery. Just remove the keyring and flick off the battery cover.

Thanks Noggin,
here is a picture of my 2 keys. According to my handbook there should be a screw in the slot where the key fits when folded.

I think that's the one where the back lower panel comes off. Is there a little slot at the back (where the hole is for the key chain) to pop the cover off?
If no-one confirms in the meantime, I'll look at mine tonight as mines 2004 so almost the same year and looks identical so should be the same.

Thanks Noggin.
I have posted a pic of the back. It seems very silly but I just dont want to force it in the wrong place and break something.
If you could look at yours, that would be great.
Thanks

Exactly the same as mine, the screw is under the little cap, but like I said, no need to remove it to change the battery. Insert your fingers in the slot where the end of the key fits and just pull apart, easy.

Yeah I meant the back as in the end (sorry to confuse) looking at the end with the hole through it.
As Al says, just prise this and it should pop apart. You can see the lower section is a separate cover and that houses the battery.
The screw is only needed to open the entire case for key and circuit board removal.

No you didn't, better to enquire on the forum first rather than break something. Most folk here will impart any hints or tips, and at the same time are willing to learn from others.
