Peugeot Boxer LED light
Hi, Anyone have a Dorset on a Boxer chassis (2010), on ours there is a green LED mounted just above the fuse box to the right of the steering wheel, its not part of the Boxer wiring as it is fed from the habitation area. It is also part of the main harness ie. not a add on. I have never seen it come on and wonder is it a warning light or just an indicator. The motorised step was a logical choice but it doesn't light up when that is operational. Anyone got a similar setup and knows what's it for, I am running out of suggestions. Thanks.

I have a 2010 Boxer based Sussex Duo. No such green LED on mine but I have red LED with a tiny button but that's from my alarm which illuminates once alarm is set (automatic when doors are locked via fob).

Thanks for reminding me to update profile, I have just Pex the Duetto as I wanted 4 belted seats as it tends to get used as a day van/ car (very versatile). the Ford Duetto was a much better drive than the Peugeot, but they both have plus & minus points. Yes I also have the red LED with button for the Cobra Alarm.

I plugged a Trailer lighting board and tried the indicators and the hazards but no joy, I was thinking the same as the Boxer doesn't have a trailer indicator on the dash.

I have tried the diesel heating, but do you need to have the ignition on, engine running, before the led lights up ? as I cant understand why they would put an indicator light were it is unless the driver was in his seat to see it.

I believe you can have diesel heater on whilst driving so that could be it.

Re: Peugeot Boxer LED light
On our 2008 Warwick, we have a green light where you describe, and it is definitely the indicator for the Eberspacher diesel fired blown air heater. It is powered from the leisure battery, and can be used quite safely when driving along.
The heaters take quite a lot of power to start running, so if I am going on a journey, i usually start the engine first, then 'fire up'. the heater.
Having said that I have never had a problem starting the heater and using it when on electric hook-up, when camping. Our system also has an electric element fitted, and after firing up on diesel, it automatically switches over to mains electric and works just like a domestic 'fan heater'.
Overall it is very effective and warms the Warwick up quickly!

Re: Peugeot Boxer LED light
Hi Mike, The Dorset has exactly what you describe with the Airelectric addon, both systems work great, Today I fired the diesel heater up then started the engine to see if the green led lit up but it did not. A few members seen to say that's it definitely to warn the driver that the heater is on. So now I am wondering if the LED is faulty but I don't know where its fed from. I could remove it and test it out of the vehicle.

Re: Peugeot Boxer LED light
Hi again, I have tested the LED and its working ok, so its a supply problem there's no voltage on the cables, does anyone know where its fed from. The cables are yellow/black and white/orange.

Re: Peugeot Boxer LED light
Hi Mike, Yes the diagram has helped a little, although it doesn't show the LED it shows that the orange/white cable is the colour used for the Gnd. and it is orange/white that goes to the LED cathode connection (-) I am now wondering if they have connected the LED to the terminal block on the Eberspacher Heater itself. The Yellow / Black wire could be there as well (+) as you would think they would leave the harness as a pair.
