Re: Should I buy this Symbol?
My thought also Gromit, is this van up to the artic temperatures, I would want more insulation and a very good heater.
Aren`t van conversions less substantial for use in the cold weather.? over a period of time.
It is worth thinking about if that is your intention.

Re: Should I buy this Symbol?
I did consider this too, but was told that any proper winter van was larger. I needed to balance being able to get it down small single track roads vs better insulation. Most of my friends survive in VW campers which I guess won't be dissimilar to the Symbol in terms of insulation and heating...
I *think* I am committed now anyway, as I put the deposit down subject to satisfactory RAC inspection, and given the dealer has now agreed to fix everything in the report, I think that means I'm contracted to buy it.

I know what you mean,,,any van for sale you find is always at the other end of the country. We dropped really lucky ,,we looked on line minutes after the seller had advertised it and he was only 20 miles away. Have been all the way to New Quay once and the van was absolute rubbish..Good luck with the purchase and i hope you enjoy it,,BUSBY65.Rum truffle wrote:Hi Paul, the dealer is Southern Motorhomes and yes, they seem very fair so far. They have agreed to fix everything, upped the warranty to 6 months (and it is their own with no exclusions). They seem to have great reviews on the internet with people saying they've had no issues with the customer service. Are you familiar with this dealer?
Nain - yes I do need to find out what that was. Been told it is now fixed. Assume small leak from washers? There was no watermark on the carpet so it looked like it was a very new leak. Doesn't appear to have affected electrics or anything as RAC man didn't pick up any faults.
Busby - I might be paying a bit much. Was hoping to pay more like £21,995 but I've been looking for a Symbol or Duetto for about a year and this was the first one I actually wanted to buy, so I'm going to try not to think about the money and just hope it is worth it. I plan to get a lot of use out of it as I tend to spend my whole winter up in Scotland mountaineering.

Hi Rum truffle
I part exchanged my 09 Nuevo for my current van, SMC (Southern motorhome centre )Taplow, they replaced the side awning, cruise control and two front tyres.it came with a full Peugeot service and 12 months MOT cert.
I believe we got a good deal with them two years ago and wouldn't
Hesitate in purchasing again from them in the future .
