Nuevo toilet flush (again)
Soon after we picked up our Nuevo we went out for a few days to make sure everything worked. One thing that worked too well was the toilet flush which wouldn't stop. Marquis fixed that and it had been behaving itself, until today.
Overnight the flush tank was emptied. Today I added some water to the tank but pressing the button only produces a pump noise, no liquid. Do I keep pressing the button until something happens or have I missed a step?

I had the same thing once after the tank had emptied.
I had to fill the tank to the brim and then it started pumping.

Thanks,
I've laid awake all night wondering if that was the case. Once the sun comes up I will give it a try.

Yay! Thank you, that worked.
I should have sorted it myself but so many little things have gone wrong this trip I automatically go in to "here we go again" mode.

I have the same problem after draining the toilet tank in the winter. I find I have to fill the tank to get the pump to work again, not sure why this should be but thats what happend each year.

Re: Nuevo toilet flush (again)
Never had to do that. Seems very strange as obviously the pump will be at the bottom.

This is not the first time I have emptied that tank but it is the first time I have had to bump start it. At least I am not alone this time.

Glad it worked - I think it probably just needs that extra little head of pressure to overcome an airlock and effectively prime the pump.

If you have the blue button flush on top of tank, then remove it, try cleaning contacts but you probably need new switch which needs soldering to existing wiring after snipping off.

Re: Nuevo toilet flush (again)
Sorry don't know , never had to do it. Not something I would want to do whilst away from home. Make do with chucking a tumbler of water down instead of flushing, We had to when switch went on ours last year.Jockfife wrote:when im pressing the button it is getting contact but pump does not pump water can i get to the pump without taking toilet to bitsPaulmold wrote:If you have the blue button flush on top of tank, then remove it, try cleaning contacts but you probably need new switch which needs soldering to existing wiring after snipping off.

Re: Nuevo toilet flush (again)
When we suddenly went camping after draining everything for winter that is what we did. I didn't fancy having to totally fill the flush tank just to get the pump started and then risk that tank freezing. I was almost out of flush tank additive (I have read the threads on here about not using them but I already had it) and just diluted that and "flushed" using that.Paulmold wrote:Make do with chucking a tumbler of water down instead of flushing, We had to when switch went on ours last year.

Re: Nuevo toilet flush (again)
We now have an issue with the toilet flush whereby it shoots out so fast that it spills over the rim of the bowl onto the carpet. Over spill can be mostly avoided with a lighter touch of the button. Just another problem to be rectified at some point in time, well at least we have a flushing loo albeit somewhat over enthusiastic.

These Thetford pumps often blow the fuse when they sieze, especially if pink flush fluid has been used. Take the panel with the flush button off of the top of the cistern, it is held on with a mastic adhesive and pulls free. Once it is off there are four phillips head screws which hold a frame in place, remove that and you can take the pump ot of the cistern. Turn the spindle with a pair of pliers and squirt wd40 into the impeller cavity, hopefully the pump will then spin when you press the button.
Good luck.

If none of the above works then you can always do what I had to on a previous motorhome (not A-S), use the shower head to flush the toilet.

Re: Nuevo toilet flush (again)
Depends on which toilet model you have. Some have a drain tube inside the cassette door others do not and can only be emptied by constant flushing.
