Where is my heater thermostat?
I have not had reason to use the space heating in my Autosleeper Northants 2013 (only had it for four weeks) but I cannot locate the room thermostat. Does anyone know where it is located please.

On my 2012 Nuevo Lancashire it is a black button about 3/4 inch in diameter on the door side of the dresser - quite near the Sargent control panel, and if i remember properly slightly above. When you know what you are looking for it is obvious. A silly location really if you have the habitation door open!

On my Gloucester, it is mounted in the end bulkhead of the settee behind the cab passenger seat.

On our Broadway it is above the habitation door also near the control panel. I would agree it is not obvious until you know what you are looking for.

Is there any logic to its placement ?
Sounds a fun game "Hunt the thermostat"

Thank you. You are right. It is above the door. I was expecting something grander with numbers and lights.

One of our vans had it directly above the shelf where 99% of owners would put their TV or electric kettle.
Took us a while to work out why the heating went off minutes after we settled down to watch a programme in the evening.
We then fitted a thermostat on the end of a length of wire so we could put it where we wanted it.

Re: Where is my heater thermostat?
If you have a Truma heater with the two circular side by side control dials then the numbers and lights are on those controls. There are green, amber and red led's that tell you what is happening (if you have the right class of university degree - AND read the manual) and the inner part of the right hand one is marked 1 to 5 which is heating temperature. And that is it! If you have the newer digital Truma conrtols it might have more gizmos. However 1 to 5 works for us.dunnboer wrote:Thank you. You are right. It is above the door. The most confusing thing is that Truma use the picture of a gas flame on the left control to distinguish between energy source - lightning for mains and gas flame for gas BUT on the right hand control the same picture of a gas flame means HEATING - irrespective of the energy source you are using. DOH!
Also, it does tell you in the manual that if the 240V supply is interrupted for more than 1 second the heater will not come back on, which is a sensible safety precaution. What it does not say is that if the 12V supply is interrupted that too will cut the heating and it will not resume. So, on my EC328 control panel, I have an event timer for setting the Habitation electrics to come on or off at a set time - great for lights but it does not work for water heating or space heating because although the 12V comes on the Truma stays off! Ah well - that's German technology for you. It also means that if you leave the heating/ hot water controls on when you leave a site or go out with12V off you will get no heating or hot water on your return until you switch off and on again at the right hand outer control. That fooled us a lot when our van was new.
Hope all that helps

It is a relief to hear I'm not the only one to find the Truma controls confusing!

Somewhere out there, thanks to Russell aka Kontiki Kid, there is a template for an overlay which makes use of said controls a lot easier.

Re: Where is my heater thermostat?
The location of our thermostat is the same as Ron's above which also contains the temperature sensor. We used to struggle to get an overall steady comfortable temperature in the van especially during cold winter nights until I bought the truma remote temp sensor (about £20-£25) that plugs into the back of the heater (which over rides the temp sensor in the thermostat control button) and located it under the heater which greatly improved the problem. Did the same with our mk1 Nuevo.

Thanks I'll look for that, I keep a crib sheet in the magazine pocket under the controls ! It is sinking in to my brain as I have to refer to it less often!!
