Re: Thermostat.
It goes red 'cos it's not lit.
Have you just changed the gas bottle? if so, there may be air in the pipe and it will need a few goes to purge the air out.
It won't light if the battery is low, try it with the engine running.

Re: Thermostat.
To the best of my knowledge the electrical side does not have a green light, in fact, ours does not have a light at all, just a switch.

Re: Thermostat.
This might seem silly but is the water heater full of water?
I agree Frank the lights are usually an indication when used on gas.

This is the gas switch, you can see the led lights and the symbols indicated next to each one...

and the electric switch looks something similar to these..

Water Heater!
I've been making an * Inappropriate Word * of myself for nearly the last 71 years so why change the habit of a life time? But I have been switching the water heater on under the sink. And I thought the Carver to the right of the sink (The one shown on your first photo controlled this?}I think I'm going to be told what a thick sod I am.But still not getting any hot water.
Regards Clive.

Re: Thermostat.
Hi Clive
If you've been switching the carver on under the sink (that's where mains switch is) and it is not heating up when you are on hook up, then try pressing the red reset button on the end of the Carver unit. Assuming that there is water in the unit as already mentioned.
The other control with the red & green lights is for the gas part of the heater and what I said earlier applies.
You can run it with both switched on if you're in a hurry for hot water.

Re: Thermostat.
It doesn't matter that you've been running the heater on both electric and gas, as in the handbook it says you can do this to speed up the heating of the water but the problem is still that you have no hot water. Try each method on its own, electric only (obviously needs to be on hook-up) and gas only, making a note of the LED lights on the gas switch. One or the other should work if water is in the heater tank. If it doesn't work on electric then presumably the heater element needs replacing or a fuse has tripped out. If it doesn't work on gas, making sure there is gas (not only turned on at cylinder but make sure isolation tap is also 'on') and that your leisure battery is fully charged, then the burner needs attention. Let us know how you get on.
ps. forgot about the reset button, Franks right that could need pressing. It's behind a flap under the seat.
