Fridge vent covers ?
My Kingham came without vent covers and I can't find any online easily. I have tried the old ones off the Duetto but they are nothing like right. Has anyone got a link or a part number for these new type (in dark grey if possible).

Mine also came without covers - but, advised by the Forum - I contacted my dealer and they posted a pair immediately _ free.

Re: Fridge vent covers ?
Just been away in the van for a couple of sunny days in Wales. Sitting outside in my deck chair I noticed that my fridge vents did not appear to have any holes in them ! Looking a bit closer my 'vents' turned out to be the missing covers, so all along they have been sitting on the van, hiding in plain view. As an excuse the old type covers where flat and obviously not vents but these new winter covers are corrugated and to the untrained eye appear to be louvred.

For the ones fitted on our Nuevo/Lancashire it's 8C when they should be removed.

Around 8-10 degrees seems to be the standard adcice, though as the temp. went down to 5 degrees round here the night before last one has to assume they mean average daily temperature.
I've always worked on fitting them in November and removing early April. Basically the same as when grass stops/starts growing at 10 degrees C.

Re: Fridge vent covers ?
Because the fridge covers have a secondary purpose (keeping rain / spray / road muck) out of the large ventilation holes in the bodywork) I don't think that ambient temperature should be the only determinant of when to use them.
Thus, for example, if travelling on a wet summer day, I'd use the covers - as used to be recommended by Dometic in their handbook.
Obviously, the covers would be removed upon reaching the destination or upon an improvement in the weather and driving conditions, assuming the ambient temperature warranted it.
In practice, I tend to do what SDA does: normally always covered in the winter months, and also in the summer if the driving conditions warrant it.

Re: Fridge vent covers ?
I've driven through big downpours without the covers on and the van hasn't suffered at all through water ingress through the fridge vents. I presume they're designed to be self draining.
I was always surprised how the ventilation grille in the bottom of the door of our '01 Eriba Touring Troll never let a drop of water into the van, despite letting g a lot of air through and being able to see through it to outside.
