Servicing NS Rear Seat Belt 94 Talent
Hi All
How do I gain access to the near side rear seat belt on a VW 94 Talent?
Its behind the kitchen and appears to be accessible from a panel at the base of the cupboard, but I cannot get the panel out and I don't want to get to aggressive as the gas pipes are just in front of it.
Its failed its MOT as the belt has jammed : (
Thanks

I don't know the layout of the Talent (quite a rare van I think) but if it's the actual base of a cupboard (not sure, because you use the term "at" the base of the cupboard), you sometimes have no option but to get aggressive! AS were not always that good at trimming the panels down to make them easy to remove - you should find a tape strap to pull on but even then it can be difficult.
On our Trooper we recently had to use a car jack to (gently) force the sides of the unit apart by a couple of mm so that it would come out - as far as we could tell the previous owner had never removed it - probably because it was so tightly jammed in. We trimmed off a small amount on each side with a jigsaw before putting it back. We also didn't put all the screws back, as six screws to hold down a panel that can't go anywhere seemed a bit excessive...

Hi Mojo
Thanks for the info, in the end brute force won out as the panel was wedged in very tightly and there was no handle to pull, so i just bent it till it came out. Quick tap with a metal pole on the belt mechanism and now the seat belt retracts.
