Carver P4 Blown air Heater
We are the owners of a VW T4 Auto sleeper Trooper that we have owned from new (February 2000).
Our Carver P4 blown air heater goes through all the preliminaries when switched on then the red light flashes indicating that there is a problem. The fan is operating correctly, the air intakes and exhaust have been blown through. It did operate fully but now it has reverted to the red lights coming on with no heat, just cold air.
Can anyone advise how to remove the heater? We suspect it is something to do with flame recognition or gas supply. Has anyone experienced similar problems and has anyone any knowledge of how (or where) to get the heater repaired?
Thanks for any input.
Geoff and Sandy

Hi there Paulmold
Really appreciate you getting in touch yesterday, thank you.
We've looked at the website as you mentioned and a telephone call has been made with instructions as to "how to proceed".
Thanks again for your help and advice

Re: Carver P4 Blown air Heater
Hi there,
Totally daft questions but:
1. Have you got the fan-speed knob turned up to "Full Speed"? On ours, the heater will not work if it is anywhere but at full speed.
2. Are your batteries fully charged? Again, on ours we have found a correlation between the heater starting/running okay and the charge on the leisure battery.
3. Is the gas turned off? Daft as it sounds, this too can happen!
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Re: Carver P4 Blown air Heater
Hi there
Thanks for your feedback.
Since posting the question originally, we've reached a resolution to the problem in that it is not possible to remove the heater from a VW Trooper without risking damage to the furniture. It is not possible to access all of the fixing screws on the right hand side brackets that secure the heater to the base of the heater compartment.
As regards your pointers but we've done all you suggested e.g check the gas on etc.
Thanks again
