2009 symbol control panel fault
The control panel on my 2009 symbol when completely turned off will repeatedly turn itself on at any time if I have winterized and emptied the water tank then we have a red flashing light and beeper running continuously draining the battery
I have had this problem some time put the van into my dealer twice who said that they re set it and have since spoken to auto sleeper
tech people who suggested removing 5 amp fuse near battery this is supposed to power up the control panel and therefor
enable me to wire in an isolating switch .
But when I tried this the control details disappeared but I had continuous green and red blank panels and the pump started up.
I have no instructions for the control panel which I believe is a MES x250 and auto sleeper only have one old wiring diagram and tell me
that there is no replacement for this unit although you can still buy from MES but I cant find them currently.
Any one able to help.
This panel has rectangular (non touch)screen in the middle with three buttons under it .

Re: 2009 symbol control panel fault
I believe MES number is 01926 499756 and I'm told they are very helpful.
There are several threads on the forum re the MES system but I can't find at the moment.
You probably need to make a few more posts before you can PM, but when you can, send me one with an e-mail address to which I can send information on the MES system.

Thank you Peter
The site for MES motorcycle electrical ? pointed me away but will speak to them tomorrow
when their expert is back .
I had looked through the posts but most seemed to refer to a touch screen type of controller .

Did you rectify your problem with your control panel? I was going to suggest checking the lithium standby battery (if fitted) however you were going to check with MES so didn't mention it.

Couldn't get any answers so bought a new unit
As this unit doesn't seem to have any or little technical support I purchased a new unit from MES which cost me around the £200 mark just waiting for the instruction book.
The new unit seems to have the ability to turn off the low water warning which is great but cant get it to fully shut down (further than Auto sleeper so I hope the is detailed when the product bible arrives
Thanks for your interest.
keith.

Re: 2009 symbol control panel fault
Hi
I am also having problems with my MES unit, turns itslef on and off etc. Sent the unit back to MES but was informed it couldn't be repaired and would cost over £200 for a new unit. I would prefer to fit a simpler unit such as the Sargeant AC 75 ( about £60 )
Did you get a wiring diagram ? If you did ,is it possible to have a copy please.

Re: 2009 symbol control panel fault
Keith, press the centre button again to move from the Autosleeper screen to a blank screen (thus switching the system off).
You may need to hold the button down.
Cheers,
G

Tablet does funny things when copying text. Couldn't be bothered to alter sizes.
