There has been rain of biblical proportions for most of today. The local TV news went to interview a family who were at London Zoo. The children seemed very excited with the rain, and the mother said there were plenty of places to go in the zoo out of the rain, like the aquarium etc. Undaunted the interviewer pressed on with the rain theme and ended her piece by advising that the best advice would be, where possible, to try to find shelter. Wow I wonder how I have managed to survive the last umpty years without knowing this. confused3

I was always told that there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!
Also, one has to remember that skin is waterproof.
Mind you, there has been a lot of rain today  rainyday

Is there a particular reason why someone giving the weather forecast can't stand in the studio rather than spend no doubt large sums of money presenting from a zoo, top of a mountain etc!

On no ....not merely a weather forecast but an on the spot report on the extreme weather....always good for an outside broadcast. It was from London and weather is always worse there as you will know. lol4

Oh sorry Groundhog...just seen where you live. Sometimes Cornwall can have a spot or two of rain.

Yes, we need the rain to neutralize all the radon gas!

Our problem is the met office is based in Exeter, Devon and they don't like us very much that side of the Tamar so get their own back they send us all the rainy weather.

Just because we are going to get independence and wouldn't let them join in, it will probably rain for a month now.

Anyway who is the best weather presenter....male I vote David Braine and female Lucy Verasamy.

I can see your problem with the Met Office. Don't know those presenters....not sure we get Cornwall Today here. On BBC national TV Jay Wynne is the best. He always sends good weather and when he turns round his hair shines of brylcreem...or maybe it's the colour settings on the TV.
