1998 Duetto water pump problem
Hi. Just been away for a few days and noticed part way through that when using the cold taps the pump started to cycle as it was pushing the water through in spurts instead of pressurising for a few seconds and then switching off. The speed of the pump increases with tap pressure so that it is on continuously when the tap is fully on. It doesn't seem to be an air issue as the water is not spluttering. The hot taps work as normal with the pump switching on only intermittently to pressurise the system. Any help would be gratefully received.

The operation sounds normal to me.
The water boiler acts as an accumulator and buffers the pressure through the hot taps causing the stop start of the pump. The cold water has no buffer and the pump is on as long as the tap is open.

Thanks Peter. I couldn't remember it working like that before so thought it was faulty. No need to panic then!
