BEWARE - Melted Pipe on Exhaust
I had reason to be underneath my vehicle recently and had a good look around and found a pipe that had just been laid on the exhaust pipe.
I understand this pipe is the LPG filler pipe
The outer plastic protector had melted - as can be seen.

Within this protector is a rubberised pipe which seems to be OK and the dealer has inspected and is comfotable with me continuing to drive.
I made a fix with a tie wrap and lifted it off the exhaust

The dealer is reporting it to AS and is agreeing to re-route it
It may be worth a slide under your vehicles to have a quick check
The location is around the end of the exhaust pipe as it vents out of the line from the body ????

We have Warwick XL, had a look under but its not the same . But there was a cable quite close to the exhaust so tied that up. So thanks for the post otherwise i probably woud,nt have looked so closely. Steve.

Auto Sleeper seem to be delaying the approval of a warranty claim
They have now asked for pictures - which is fair I suppose but they could be quicker about it ???? This is now 3 weeks
Anyway I'm off to Italy next week for 10 days with or without the fix

Excuse me for being cynical but as your temporary fix looks quite robust, I would rather not have the van tinkered with just before I go on holiday.
The delay in attention may be all with AS but maybe your dealer was a little tardy in contacting them. Another factor could be that with so much under the van they are having difficulty working out a better route.
I guess you are going to northern Italy if the trip is just 10 days, anyway I hope all goes well.

Re: BEWARE - Melted Pipe on Exhaust
Might be worth getting some of this to wrap around the cables and pipes by the exhaust?

Agreed I had thought of those options and I am having the work done on my return with a habitation check appointment.
I am indeed going to Northern Italy, to a little village near Barolo - in fact I'm going to the opening of a Pizzeria
I'm going to Kayserburg France first for 2 days (via Reims overnight) and then down thru Switzerland to our destination (vignette in hand - well, in windscreen )
I might post some pictures of the trip.
Thank you for your interest
