Removing Duetto spare wheel Empty Removing Duetto spare wheel

Hi, We have a 1995 Duetto on a Transit base and we've been informed we need a special tool to drop down the alloy spare wheel carrier to get the wheel out.  It is not in the bag with the jack, jack handle and wheel nut  brace.  Does anyone know where we could obtain this tool please?  Brian and Janet Wood.

Hi,
I would have thought that a decent Ford garage could advise you,

Hi there,

As suggested a Ford Garage would be able to sort you out.   We had a similar problem when we got our 1995 Duetto in that my partner sorted out what he needed and unfortunately threw the spare wheel handle out.  The garage ordered him one he thinks it was about £15-£20.  He has said that there are two different handles, so make sure you get the right one.

Hope this helps. up!

On my 1999 Duetto, the handle for the jack doubles as the handle to lower the spare wheel. Have you checked that first, if it is the same for yours then you could cancel your order and save some money  scratch head

I agree with jollywalker. I had a 1999 Duetto and the jack handle folded in two sections. There was no 'special tool' at all, the end of the jack handle engaged with the nut which was visible with the rear doors open and was used to lower (and raise) the spare wheel.

All the wheels on the MK4 and MK5 Duettos were alloy, including the spare wheels and nothing extraordinary was required, unless perhaps the original tools have been lost?
