Has anyone fitted a Fiamma bike rack to a recent Symbol or other Boxer base vehicle?

I wondered whether it's as simple as the one fitted to my Topaz which needs no holes to be drilled. If no drilling is required it seems to be an easy task and the racks look as though they're available for £200 online (would they be cheaper at the forthcoming NEC show?)

Fiamma and Omnistor/Thule have bike racks for double rear door vans including the Peugeot boxer.
The Fiamma Ducato carry-bike  DJ 200 model fits the newer X250 vans without having to drill holes in the door skin to fit.
Google up the bike rack and you will find several stockists and more information about the bike racks.
I had one fitted to to my 59 Symbol with a Fiamma carry box attached.

I asked the supplying Dealer to fit a bike rack and they supplied the Fiamma Carry Bike 200 DJ shown here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which required no drilling and the rear doors can be opened without removing the bicycles.

p.s.  If you read the fitting instruction: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it appears there is some drilling to fit the security screw.

Thanks for that, Boaby and Ramblers.
It's clear that I need the CARRY-BIKE 200DJ, and I assumed that I needed the one that fits the post 2006 Ducato.
As recent Symbols are based on the Boxer, I just checked the Fiamma brochure that I picked up at the NEC yesterday and it lists both the pre 2006 and post 2006 200DJ.
Under the pre 2006 heading it suggests that it also fits the post 2000 Boxer!
Under the post 2006 heading, the Boxer isn't even mentioned.
I thought that the Ducato and Boxer were basically the same so I'm confused.
Looks like I need to get in touch with Fiamma - unless anyone can clarify this.

Hi John
The Fiamma carry bike 200DJ will fit the post 2006 Ducato, Boxer, Citroen vans with double rear doors.
I had one fitted on my 59 Symbol, 5 years back, I had a Fiamma 320 box fitted to it.
Works well, however watch your head when shutting the rear door if the cycle rails are slightly into the centre of the van.

I never really fancy hanging a bike rack off any door. I just don't think doors and boot lids are designed for that, and when I see a rack strapped to he back of some hatchback I cringe!

I use a tow ball cycle rack that I can fit onto any car with a tow bar. All the weight is on the hitch, which is designed to take the load.

Easy to take off, and move to a different vehicle.

Only problem is. You need to fit a tow bar to the boxer! We get our van in April, and I will be investigating this

That's a valid point Jools.

I suppose that the stresses on the door become much higher if the door is opened with the bikes attached though.

Presumably, if the doors are kept closed when bikes are on the rack, the load should be not that great.

If I remember rightly the carrying weight of the bike rack is 35kgs?, we had the full use of the rear doors no matter what was attached to the rack.
