Fixing Bike carriers on autosleepers with end
Hi I have a Burford Duo and want to add a fiamma bike carrier. I understand the rear wall is strengthenined to enable this but I'm concerned about which model to buy as my previous model bolted right through the rear wall. Does anyone have any experience of fitting bike carriers? Is there another method to secure the carrier which doesn't require you to fix all the way through the rear wall?

I have no idea as to your model, but if you think about it, unless there is a purpose-made fixing point, a bike-rack HAS to pass through the wall, & I doubt that screws etc. won't even support the rack, let alone the load.
I did however fit a 2-bike fiamma rack, & my van & it did indeed have reinforcing beams bonded in ready, I feel certain that Autosleeper have done this to all models.
Give them a ring to find out, ask for locations as well, they are very helpful.

We had a Fiamma Lift 77 fitted to our Broadway FB. There are bolts protruding inside but not too much of an eyesore. Two are behind the headboard, two are in the shower with a stainless steel plate and four beneath the floor level so no sign inside. Have a look at

I have a feeling, but have not checked, my Old Nuevo manual recommended the type of rack to use. When I had it fitted, it is slightly off centre of the back of the van. I think this because the bolt fittings inside needed to miss the cabinet work inside. The other fitting is in the shower area just below the toilet roll holder covered with a plastic cap. They also put plenty of silkaflex around when they fitted it to stop any water getting in

When you ask A.S. for the fixing locations don't hold your breath till you get an answer. I've a funny feeling they only give that sort of information to dealers.

That is the answer I got when I asked about the Gloucester reinforcement. "We don't release that information to owner's, not considered a DIY operation"

Bike carriers
Ok people I will email and see what they have to say. I have been looking at the ladder mounted type too, I have a ladder already fitted but it's a folding one with oval handrails so I'm still trying to establish if this is a feasible option

Re: Fixing Bike carriers on autosleepers with end
I have the standard Famma folding bike rack. I would like to change to a lifting rack like the Fiamma easy lift. Would I need different mounting point or can it be done by removing the current rack and reusing the old mounting points?
Help appreciated, Many thanks.
