I think I would cut that mileage in half. A partial recharge may count as a cycle and you won't in practice let it discharge fully.

Reading the What Car report was interesting - especially the example of a 100000 mile car over two years of use and no drop in capacity at all. blush

As with anything as people buy the incentive to develop further technologies will challenge today’s concerns.  I’ve got friends who are using the same lithium technology for their leisure batteries - so much lighter and smaller and such a long way away from the limitations of lead acid technologies.   Still out of my reach at the mo but suspect that might be where some of those used car batteries end up in the future rather than just in buildings.  I’ll keep watching.
