Led lights
I am thinking of replacing my tube lighting in my 2005 Symbol for LED lights.
How do I know what wattage to go for ?
I have been looking at these lights :
Caravan 10 White LED Interior Lights 1W 27LM 12V / 24V DC by [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
what is 1W equivalent too ?

Re: Led lights
We replaced the ones on our duetto last year, very easy and a great improvement on the light levels and on the power usage. We also replaced the bulbs on the eyeball spotlights and now can hardly use them as they are so bright!!!
I will get the other half to provide details of what we used as soon as he can find them.

Re: Led lights
Bought a set of four 8inch 12v led strips in IKEA, £20. Comes with mains plug transformer and jack plug connector, connectors, distribution hub, fixings and bags of connecting wire.
Easy to convert to van 12v by adding a simple mini jack plug or cutting the wires.
Going to rig them up as reading lights

If like me, you don't feel confident to wire LED's into your striplights, you can now buy replacement LED tubes, not cheap though..

Led lights
Hi,
I replaced all the tubes & associated gubbins on my van last year..so far so good. All you need to keep is the switch off the original fittings.
Led's. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
connectors for led's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
took about 30 minutes to do each light fitting once I'd got the hang of it. I put 2 strips in each light & 3 strips in the washroom light .
I also changed the spotlight fitting over the passenger seat & fitted another one to match over the drivers seat..with led bulbs as well.
Thanks to the guys on here who inspired me to do it..Its a worthwhile conversion which will save your leisure battery power if you like to camp off grid.
Tim.

Re: Led lights
I converted all the lights in our Topaz a couple of years ago, with advice from this forum (LED tech has moved on, so most of that lengthy thread is now obsolete). It is really quite an easy job to do; my two pieces of advice: (a) get warm-white LEDs unless you like cold, blue lighting, (b) have a rummage around on e-bay/Amazon; camping-type stores and others who sell made-up lighting units can charge extortionate prices, if you are not in a desperate rush it seems to only take a couple of weeks for items to ship from China. So, that three pieces of advice!
