External Thermal Windscreen Cover
My wife and I have recently taken possession of a 2008 Auto Sleepers Warwick. This is on a Peugeot Boxer base
We are looking to buy a thermal windscreen cover for the vehicle and were looking for some advice on the best/ most appropriate cover for this vehicle.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Many Thanks
Robin

Silver Screens without a doubt.

We have used Taylor Made screens, seemingly the same material as Silver Screens, but a bit cheaper.
In the light of a recent post, can I suggest that you "Introduce" yourselves?

I agree based on personal experience and superb customer service however 50% of forum members will say the same about Taylor made screens. Once you go outside those two there are some very poor quality and badly fitting screens available so I would stick with one or the other.

Re: External Thermal Windscreen Cover
We have 2 Silver screens on our Nancy. A thick all year one with peel off front to let the daytime through a mesh screen. Great for those cold autumnal times.
Also a single mesh screen to shield the hot sun and provides some vision through it, in case a quick getaway is needed. This one we use a lot as it is about a 1/4 of the weight and rolls up into a tiny sausage bag, for easy storage too.
Can't complain about Taylor Made either though, as that was on our previous Symbol and very good.
As Peter says, other makes can be not as good. Do a search online, you always see them up for sale, if you don't want to purchase brand new.

Re: External Thermal Windscreen Cover
Hi Robin. I've just changed from a Fiat/Peugeot Boxer to a Mercedes Sprinter based A/S model.
In August last year I bought a Taylor Made long line screen cover (it goes down over the top of the windscreen scuttle and covers the bonnet slots etc, keeps out water and leaves etc). It fits beautifully, is well made and performs equally well.
It cost me £145 and has been used only once or twice. Obviously, I'm going to need to buy another screen cover from the same maker.
If you're interested, perhaps we could come to an amicable arrangement?
Barry.

Re: External Thermal Windscreen Cover
Silverscreens for me also. As Peter said there are some very inferior ones out there. For example the first set of exterior ones we bought were Italian made, didn't have a fold down centre section, and came as one-piece which made them difficult to put on, had to be removed completely during the day to allow light in and didn't seem padded for insulation although they claimed they were thermal and quite honestly were still priced around £90 new. Look on Ebay there are always Silverscreens or Taylormades on sale secondhand but you just might have to wait for the model you want and usually sell for less than £70.
