Removing Eberspacher from Symbol
Hi,
I need to remove the Eberspacher D2 Airtronic heater from my 04 Symbol to send it for servicing.
I'm getting pretty good at removing stuff. The fridge has been in & out like a yo-yo, I've replaced the battery charger & the water pump (needed a dentist's mirror for these two) and I've had the Truma out for servicing when a spider crept into the burner.
But, I believe the Eber' has me beat, it's jammed in between the Truma & the Cooker, I can't see any nuts or screws inside the 'van or underneath where all I can spot is inlet tubes & exhaust pipes.
Anyone out there done this? I hate to pay up to £90 per hour for someone else to do the donkey work.
I would be very grateful for any advice.

I ~think~ that the main bolts are underneath, pointing downwards.
However, last time I looked you could download the Eber installation manual for the Airtronic models from the internet - either from their website or one of their dealers. It has a full exploded diagram showing where all the bolts are, so it should be easy to follow from that.

I am fairly certain that the mounting bolts go through the floor directly under the heater unit.

I removed my eberspacher heater a couple of years ago from my 2004 symbol. It wasn't easy. I had to remove the water heater to get access to the base of the wooden box it was mounted on. The heater was fixed to the box by an adaptor plate with 4 screws which were a pig to get to. The sealant around the pipes underneath had to be cut away to release the heater. Good luck
