Duetto.....Good Price? Empty Duetto.....Good Price?

Post by peugeotboxer Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:31 pm

Saw a 1996 Duetto from a distance on a forecourt in Newton Abbot, priced at £12,990.

Would this be a reasonable price?  scratch head

It sounds about "averagely right", if a little low for a dealer.

But from a distance you can't judge! If for example you peek under the bonnet and find that there are practically no inner wings left (as I've seen in the past) then it could be a bit high...

Turbo or non turbo, manual or automatic? Makes a difference. To my mind the price could be a bit on the high side, but if it is a turbo automatic with awning and bike rack, then perhaps OK.

To me this seems a little on the expensive side even from a dealer. As a comparison compare this

I thought that as well and then I thought, wow these 'vans' certainly do hold their value.

I take the points stated as relevant but that it was viewed as I drove past.

It's only when you visit and go over the van that you can see the extent of rust. Pictures in my opinion are useless in determining condition.
The Fords are well known for rusting.
Other factors are important as well, and only found by a complete visual inspection.
A check list is worth carrying out for each visit for comparisons.
And finally take someone with you.
