Hilda, you would be better off editing your original post rather than starting a new one to save confusion.
Sorry I cannot help with the wheel carrier

You didn't - you put the info in "the field that nobody sees when they open the message"!
I'm fairly sure that the underslung wheel carrier is standard Ford fitting. Your options to replace are therefore probably only Ford main dealer (but I doubt if they still stock parts that old, and if they do it may be horrendously expensive) or a breakers - rusty old examples occasionally get listed by breakers on ebay.
However, a cheaper option might be to find out what's wrong with the existing one and fix that...

I had exactly the same problem and it took me ages to source a replacement. In the end I found one at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which was sent from Poland and cost quite a lot in postage! It was second hand but in good working order and cost £29 plus postage which is a lot less than I would have had to pay Ford, even if it was still available! It was more difficult for me as I live in France so not many scrapyards with Trannies being broken up. You could try your local scrapyards as there must be loads of transits being broken due to the 'dreaded rust'. You will need a 45 Torx bit to get the old one off but is is an easy job. Good luck with your search. Brian.

Thanks for that Iceman.
Is there any chance that you could send a photo of this, as we are now getting desperate trying to get one. We have tried Foyar a dealer who deals in Ford parts but they unfortunately do not have this type. We are prepared to get from Poland if necessary like you did or would the company you got it from on the website help us?

Spare Wheel Carrier
Hi Frank,
Thanks for the info. My partner has just phoned them but unfortunately they could not help. I think it might be a problem with the age of the van. We have tried various scrap yards, even one in The Lakes when we were up there last week. Just have to keep trying.

Hi Brian, thanks for the info. Got in touch with "Transit Centre" and they were very helpful, they sent a photo of the carrier for a 14" and 15" wheel. Ours is the 14" but unfortunately it does not match the one we have taken off there is a slight difference. I have sent them a photo of the one we have taken off, whether they can help further I do not know. Just keep trying.

Just to let everyone know that we are now sorted out with our spare wheel carrier. A friend of ours managed to get us one, so it is now fitted on the van, but thank you all for your help.
