Rust stain on bodywork - how to remove? Empty Rust stain on bodywork - how to remove?

Post by DanLear Thu 13 Mar 2014 - 20:13

Hi all,

The old rear wiper on my T4 Trooper was rusting away (now replaced) but it's left a stain on the paintwork below it. Any recommendations on how I can remove the stain? I've used normal car polish, lots of elbow grease and some Auto Glym stuff for removing tar/oil that Halfords recommended, but it's not shifting it.

Cheers

Polish will coat and protect the stain, not remove it!

Have you tried T-Cut?

Brasso is less abrasive and will do the job just as well.

I've even used Jif or Cif as it is now called.

Hi Dan
Daft as it sounds you could also try rubbing it with shaving foam -that works sometimes.
