Hi
Yes!
If you take the switch out you’ll see that the self cancelling is done by a small plastic moulding on the back of the switch, attached by a couple of springs.
I had to replace my switch about a month ago. It only takes five minutes to get it off.

Hi there,
Agree, it should be self-cancelling.
Being slightly deaf ("As a post!" according to SWMBO! ) I have included a new "Beeper" into the circuit because the original was so quiet.
Best regards,

And my advice would be - don't bother with breakers and their silly prices for used bits.
I fitted a "pattern" part which cost £10-ish new from Transitpartsuk and it lasted longer than the original Ford part! IIRC the only special tool you need is a Torx bit.

Hi
Very easy.
Remove the top and bottom parts of the plastic cover (one pozi screw in the top half and two in the bottom).
The switch is fixed to the column by two Torx (i.e. star) head screws and the wires just unplug. Simply undo the screws and remove the switch.
The self cancelling mechanism is very simple so you’ll probably be able to see what’s wrong when the switch is removed.

Yes,ours also needs to be replaced on our 1994 Duetto.
Another job to be done.
Have a broken passenger side door latch to replace also.
Might have sourced one that is not from a main dealer(I have been told they would cost £88.00 from them)
If the one I have sourced it not ok will have to hunt around scrappies!
Great fun!

Re: indicator switch on 1996 duetto
well the new indicator stalk has arrived and been fitted.everything in working order.one issue is that the button to activate the hazard lights is black not red and doesn't flash but i suppose you can't have it all for £16.94.

indicator switch on 1996 duetto
Well also decided to replace the indicator/hazard switch on our 1994 Duetto.
As somebody use to say on a tv comedy program some years back"what a mistaka to maka""
Paid £10.40 including carriage for a replacement from ebay.
Arrived very quickly but as mickenbacker 330 said about the one he purchased the hazard part doesn't illuminate.
At least this one was made of red plastic!!!
Anyway connected the new switch up and yes the hazard part worked but the indicators do not.
Re connected the old unit and it works fine except of course where I started, it doesn't cancel.
Contacted the supplier who has agreed on a refund and doesn't want the supplied one back as the postage would be too much.
Seems likely a replacement from the scrappy would have the same non cancelling problem and buying from a Ford dealer would make the price out of the question.
Genuine Ford parts out in the big wide world are generally well over priced especially when you are buying for such and old vehicle.
Supply and demand I guess but this would be another rant!!

Re: indicator switch on 1996 duetto
Hi
I got mine from Euro Car Parts (Part No.: 461590020) and I paid the princely sum of £22. It also has the black hazard switch so it was probably the same switch as mickenbacker 330 got for £16.94!
Anyway it worked perfectly.
