1996 Duetto
After working well, the long single bench bed is playing up. I had a job to pull the bed out and now it will only go half way back. Could something in a drawer be stopping it? It does look as though the drawers are under the seat platform but I don't know if the platform goes right the way under the bed.

Re: 1996 Duetto
Hi there,
After being challenged with my then weight of 118kg the pull-out bit on "Petal" also decided to start playing up.
If you pull the bed all the way out and then look down the back you may see some wood splinters. If you do then your bed will probably be suffering the same problem as "Petal's".
What had happened was that the bed had sagged and the small catch that holds the pull-out bit in place was catching on the plywood base to such an extent that it finally jammed.
I took "Petal" to AS for a morning of work (we had a few other niggles to sort out) and the young lad that did the repair on the bed not only replaced the plywood he also installed two "runners" to make sure that it couldn't happen again.
I'm glad to say that there hasn't been a recurrence since the repair and as I now weigh less than 100kg hopefully it never will recur.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Thank you. I think my problem has been caused by damp. The window has been leaking :-(

Ah ….. that'll do it!!
If the wood has swollen then it will be the same as the bed sagging. i.e. reduced tolerances causing things to "catch" somewhere.
I guess a good dry-out is in order and a prayer that the wetness hasn't resulted in anything nasty.
Best regards,

Duetto bed
Hi Ya. Having had my bed apart several times for access to other areas, one possibility could be the screws holding the long seat squab to the runners may have worked loose and dropped, so catching on the upper surface of the bench box. pull the bench right out and from the open side doorway slide underneath and see if anything is hanging down that shouldn't be. Its best to be on your back to do this. It wont be the drawer as it is covered over. Regards, David.

Well I did nothing to the bed and now it closes. I think it was the sun that dried everything out. Hope so anyway
