VW seat issue Empty VW seat issue

Post by C0LL0 Fri Feb 07, 2014 2:23 pm

Hi All

Would anyone know how to remove the seat back adjuster from the captains seat in a VW based AS ??

Mine has gone all sloopy but still works if it is held firm in place, but is very fiddley so thought I would take apart and see what has gone wrong, but failed on the first obstacle  scratch head

Any help much appreciated

The Topaz was built on both T4 and T5 base vehicles, so you may need to provide more info on how old the van is.

It will also depend on whether they are VW-supplied swivel seats or A-S sourced aftermarket items. If original VW parts, the UK VWT4forum may be the best place to ask (despite the name, they cover T5s as well).

Hi Ramos

Yes that was at Tunstall forest out in Suffolk in 2012 (unusally hot and dry for April) as part of the Mud Sweat and Gears MTB eastern series, which I'll be contending again this year.

I regulary ride swinley and bedgebury, going to try peaslake this year also.

Cheers

Hi Not sure if you are looking for the 'wheel' type seat adjusters. I had a problem with mine (T4-1998). Search 'VW T4 backseat adjuster wheels' should bring up my posts on the problem I had. Only solved by genuine VW spares

Cheers Steve

Just sorted mine out, was a loose bolt after I got tough with it and pulled the black cover off.

I'm a happy boy now
