Re: Fuel filter replacement
Are you looking to resolve a specific problem, or just thinking about routine maintenance? If the latter and you haven't already done so, may be worth checking the service schedule, as most modern diesels have the fuel filter replaced regularly as part of normal service - so you may find it's been done recently anyway.

Re: Fuel filter replacement
Fuel filter replacement schedule is 25k.
I tend to do intermediate ones cos most mileage is on the continent where I occassionally get water contamination and have to drain it from the filter canister.
I also tend to do intermediate oil ans filter changes whih on this engine is the easiest and quickest I have ever known.
So I am looking for a fuel filter replacement procedure - hence the question

I haven't tried this yet on mine. What makes it particularly easy and quick?

Re: Fuel filter replacement
The X250 has a history of fuel filter leakage. Mine has failed twice, each time after servicing by Fiat (alleged) professional who never did it up properly afterwards........... You need to remove the filter and disconnect the pipes (easy) and undo/replace/redo using a special tool (I got it from eBay) and the correct - quite high - torque. Not using this tool, which is basically two cages, means you risk cracking the fuel filter housing. A poor bit of design, basically.

Inspiridon,
I will post a separate thread in the technical section detailing the engine oil and filter replacement process when I do the next one - probably March.
Essentially the filter and the drain plug are close to the front underside of the engine and easily accessable with no need to lift the vehicle.

DuxDelux,
E-bay thread no longer works.
What was your search criteria to find one.
Also, any chance you would post a fuel filter repacement process in detail in the technical section.
With a few pics if possible.
Ken
