Thought it was. It's had the missing side stripes put on the cab. Looks like he's letting Motorhome Depot take the flak this time.

I looked at this one last night with interest (to compare it with our model) as I did not know any were built on the Fiat chassis, and I gather from the comments that I am not the first either.

If you click on the video button on the advert  and look at the front lower section of the passenger door, it is in white, not the usual dark brown (?). In one of the photo's there is a shot of the drivers door which is also in white. Would you have to be very clever and good with tools to be able to do this if it was not a factory product?

It looks like the van discussed recently where it turned out that I think the chassis of a 2004 Exec was damaged beyond repair and a garage in Ireland grafted the body onto a new Fiat chassis in 2006. If it is that one it was lll done above board.

This van keeps popping up. The last owner got very irate when questioned about its origins.

Just looked at the latest ebay advert. May be wrong but the tax disc value is £215.00 which was purchased late 2012. I'm sure the motor caravan rate was £220.00 which has since risen to £225.00.

That would indicate the base vehicle was first registered as a commercial van, not a motor caravan. You can request to change body type with the DVLA but you can never change the tax class and rate.

Personally I think this is only above board if the van is described as a re-born, so any potential purchaser is away of the history.

On face value it's being sold at a 2006 A/S at an appropriate price, but when the history comes out the new owner will have taken a bit hit on the £s.

Have sent them a message querying the Fiat base. Will be interested to see if I get a reply!

The internal pictures could have been taken of my 2007 Executive. hugegrins

Ditto here Dave!

Was thinking that a word to the wise on other forums might not be a bad idea.
Wouldn't want to see any of our other motorhoming friends getting shafted!

I wonder whether Motorhome Depot (the selling agents) need telling. After all, would they be held responsible for selling something that wasn't what it appeared to be?

Just checked and the Listing has Ended!
Was it something someone said?

It doesn't look like anyone has bought it, thankfully!

Asked seller for build number and as usual he cannot find one. He claims to have paperwork showing it was converted by AS and suggests I give them a ring to verify.

You could do that. Maybe this build number is not the definitive proof.?
Be nice to see what they say.

They've come clean with the fact that its not original, not sure about asking £24,995, if you offered it at £15,000 I think most people would walk away.

I would think the owners have tried selling without success and have turned to this motorhomedepot company to sell it.
