Fiat Ducato Oil
I have a 2017 Symbol built on a Fiat Ducato 2.3 Multijet 2 150. All the documentation I have is for the more common Peugeot Boxer version. I would be grateful if somebody could let me know the recommended engine oil for my model. Many thanks. Bill

Re: Fiat Ducato Oil
Bill, do you not have the Fiat base vehicle handbook and service record as well as the AS instruction manual?
Mine is a 2021 Fiat but I’d hesitate to assume yours and mine use the same oil.

You could also take a look online, I looked at the Castrol site where you can enter you reg and bingo the correct oil comes up, or why not try Fiat or motor factors.
Strange you were not given any service records or handbook!! Looks like dealer gave you the wrong documents.

I checked Castrol site for mine, told me stop/start 5/30, I don't have stop/start.

Well you cannot please all the people all the time. Been using Castrol every other year for passed 6 years with no problems. Main dealer years 2,4,6.

Re: Fiat Ducato Oil
I've found the problem. Although my van is registered 2010 it was actually built July 2009, the Castrol website gives two variants in 2009. If I usevtge Castrol website that uses make/model instead of reg, it gives correct oil as Castrol Edge 5/40. I know my mechanic last used GTX Professional 5/40, that's not mentioned but they both are fully synthetic so not worried.

The Castrol website comes up with the right year and model of Fiat Ducato but says " Unfortunately we cannot determine a suitable product for your vehicle at this time.Paulmold wrote:I've found the problem. To find the build year locate a loose piece of trim, ashtray for example, it should have a date stamp somewhere.

Thank you for all the help and advice. I am reliably (?) informed that the engine oil I need is Selenia WR Forward Ref. No. F842.F13 SAE 0W-30 ACEA C2 Spec. 9.55535-DS1. Bill
