It should do. A couple of things to be aware of........ 1) if the door is not properly shut then the contacts won't make and it won't work. It might seem obvious but some times the door looks shut when only on the first click. 2) the door can sag very slightly, meaning that the central locking contacts (top right as you look into the van) don't make contact - easy to adjust the hinges slightly if a good DIY'er and it is a known problem that sometimes the wire joints fail behind the contacts - once again a relatively easy fix

Yes as Dux said it's a known problem...
First thing to try is (with the door tightly shut) push the door with the palm of your hand above the habitation door handle as you press the central locking fob, if this locks or unlocks the door then it's a case of getting the door aligned, if it still doesn't work clean the contacts with something like WD40 and some paper towels or get a fine piece of emery cloth and rub over them and try again. We had an intermittent problem with ours occasionally not working and it drove me mad, got Auto-Sleepers to align the door and after several attempts they got it sorted... (even they struggle getting it right) it also took care of daylight coming through at the bottom of the door!

In the cold weather my habitation door refused to unlock from the key fob but would with the key. It then would lock with the fob and generally also unlock unless I left it a few days when it misbehaved again. I assumed it was a lubrication issue!

As CC says, a known issue. Mine failed the day before I had it serviced at the A/S service centre and as well as fixing it (mine was the wire disconnected) they showed me how to do it myself. I still think I will leave any re-alignment to A/S, though.

Thanks for several handy bits of advice. Have found a disconnected wire going into door detector. PanchoPancho wrote:should cab locking using the key fob also lock the caravan door?
