Gas Cooker in 1996 Duetto
Good evening
Due to much use in the past (I guess), the marks that would normally be present to indicate which * Inappropriate Word * turns on which burner on my cooker have been worn off. From left to right the knobs are black , red , black, red. Now I know I could sort this out by trial and error and half a box of matches but I think it would be better (safer) if one of you kind people could let me know which does what. I am assuming there is no thermostat to the oven. Does LP 2000 sound like a model number?
Regards
Brad

In respect of the above post, I have no idea why it says "inappropriate word." There were no such words entered by me unless you regard * Inappropriate Word * as an inappropriate word. Perhaps I should have called it "means of turning on gas.

Deleted as duplicated.
The "inappropriate word" is the singular of the word "knobs"!
So, on this Forum you can have many knobs but not one * Inappropriate Word *!

In addition to Brian's information .....
,...... the * Inappropriate Word * has to be pushed in to get the gas to start flowing to the relevant element.
The knobs need to be kept pushed in until the thermostat senses that there is a flame. (The business end of the "thermostat" is a small pin that is hit by the flame.)
After that the gas will keep flowing until you turn it off or until it gets blown out. (In which case it will stop the flow of gas automatically.)
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Ian

Many thanks Brian and Ian. Could it be that the forum filters need tweeking a bit. I can't see what is offensive about the thing that turns the gas on. Perhaps I should have called it a "tap"
Brad.

Brad,
It's just a foible!
I know a Forum where I couldn't post anything about a north Lincolnshire town with a steelworks because of the "filth filter"!
I have to admit though, someone calling me a "tap head" would gain a few seconds respite before I retaliated!
Best regards,
Ian

Hello Blossom
Bit intrigued by this one.
As you can appreciate, for obvious reasons we need to have a language filter in place. But, I cant understand what word you would have used in order for it to be censored?
Edit: The censoring of the word 'knob' should now be corrected.
