I looked into this for an elderly friend a couple of years back, and the answer is yes (subject of course to gross laden weight and rear axle load limits). There is a huge range of scooters out there, some of which are comparative lightweights. These will typically be three wheelers where one of the heaviest components - the battery - can be unshipped and carried in the van itself (this also being a fairly good theft deterrent). She had a winch mechanism made up so that she could drive it into place and then shift it into position without any heavy lifting.

The compromise will typically be range - but if you maintain a spare battery this need not be an issue.

While on this subject, one other aspect about this that enrages me: high-pressure mobility aids salesmen. The same elderly friend invited a mobility aids company to visit, and was subjected to several hours of high pressure selling, with a price which started at £2000, and then after a couple of hours reduced to a "special deal" price of £1500. She resisted, and when we looked online later, the same make/model could be had for less than £700!

It seems that the whole disability aids market (including lifting chairs, special beds, stair lifts, etc.) is full of parasites like this...
